Advanced Placement

Red Bank Regional High School proudly offers an extensive list of Advanced Placement courses. Students who choose the AP strand of our curriculum have the freedom to select AP classes that meet their individual academic needs and interests. Many students enjoy this freedom to pick and choose which courses suit their needs, creating an RBR diploma that reflects their personal academic approach. Our students have been awarded college credit for their hard work and determination, alleviating some of the cost of their college degree and advancing them above their peers at the university level.

Red Bank Regional follows recent College Board guidelines regarding AP course work in offering these classes to students who are both willing and able to meet the challenge and rigor of the AP standard. In an effort to increase student readiness for AP work, RBR offers an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program whose mission links well with the aims of the College Board. Moreover, students often prepare for AP course work during the summer as many AP courses begin the year with Pre-AP Summer Institutes. Red Bank Regional requires all AP students to take the AP exam for their specific course, and as a result of the hard work of both AP staff and students, our AP scores are consistently higher than national averages.
