Curriculum Scope

Algebra I

This course provides instruction for basic operations with real numbers, exponents, and polynomials. Successful completion of the course includes the ability to handle: basic operations, working with signed numbers, solving of linear, quadratic and systems of equations and inequalities, factoring, simplifying rational expressions, absolute value, graphing linear equations and inequalities, and working with radical expressions. Verbal problems are integrated within units of study to emphasize the development of problem-solving skills. CR 5, YO 9, 10, 11
