Curriculum Scope
* Mid-term and Final exams that are collaboratively prepared by the eighth grade and high school
teachers are administered to all eighth grade students taking Algebra 1. If a student receives a passing
average on the exams they are placed in Geometry (321).
** Students who receive 85 or higher on the Algebra 1 final exam, score Advanced Proficient on the GEPA
& score in the 99th percentile on the Terra Nova, are invited to take Honors Algebra 2 & Geometry.
*** If students receive a final average of 90 or higher in both Algebra 1 (301) and Geometry (321), they
Qualify for Honors Algebra 2.
**** If students receive a final average of 90 or higher in Algebra 1, they qualify to take Geometry & Algebra 2
***** If students receive a final average of 90 or higher in Pre-Calculus, they qualify for AP Calculus.
◙ Selection into to this course is based on multiple measures: GEPA test scores, Terra Nova test scores
and teacher recommendation.
