Keystone Course Description

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS OF MATH & SCIENCE

The keystone course for all 10th grade students enrolled in the Math & Science Academy is based on practical applications of both core areas of study integrated into one classroom. The topics of instruction will range from exploring the human body to inquiry analysis and presentation of data. The team of teachers providing instruction for this course will engage the students in an activity-based learning environment. This course is aimed at improving students’ knowledge and skill base of math and science while introducing new ideas and real-world applications involving both subject areas. The goal is to provide convergent learning experiences that will prepare students for the real world; one that is not divided into academic subjects.
