RBR Art Teacher Honored by SCAD as Outstanding Educator.


Red Bank Regional’s (RBR) Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) Commercial Art Teacher, Claudia O’Connor, a Rumson resident, was recently honored as an Outstanding Teacher by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Mrs. O’Connor has taught at RBR for eight years. In that time has she has imparted her own professional art expertise to her students and facilitated many demonstration opportunities where they continually win local and regional art competitions. RBR VPA students are continually accepted into top art schools including SCAD. As part of the honor, Mrs. O’Connor was offered an all-expenses paid weekend trip to SCAD to meet with staff and tour programs and special art facilities.
            At a recent Board Meeting commending Mrs. O’Connor, RBR Principal Risa Clay stated, “Claudia looks for every opportunity for her students to shine. She always arranges for her students to participate in many competitions where they enjoy much success.”
