Program Overview

The Media Center is an important aspect of the educational program at Red Bank Regional High School. It provides a wealth of information and technologies to the students, staff, faculty and community.

Our Media Center includes more than 23,000 books, over 80 print periodical subscriptions, over 1500 magazines and newspapers via EBSCO, the online periodical subscription, 1000 videos, and 250 music CD's. We also circulate over 2000 pieces each school year.

The Media Center services over 1100 students and 150 staff members. We have extended our hours on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons (7:00 am until 5:00 pm.) On a daily basis, over 300 students use the facility.

The Media Center is fully automated and has 36 student workstations which all have Internet connectivity, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Publisher. We also have available a music room where students may listen to the CD collection, or use a CD burner and scanner. Our collection is catalogued electronically on the Follett system.

The Media Specialist provides a number of services to the faculty, staff and students at Red Bank Regional High School. All freshman receive an orientation to inform them of Media Center materials, procedures and resources. Classes are encouraged to use the Media Center resources for research. The Media Specialist can assist all staff in the use of the Media Center and its available technologies for use in instruction. Additionally, everyone is encouraged to seek out the Media Specialist for assistance in individual projects.
