How to Cite a Professional Web Page (MLA Format)

Note:  Not all websites will have all of these parts.  Include what is available.

IMPORTANT: If you are citing a personal web page the format is slightly different.  Check the following website: http://www.wisc.edu/writing/Handbook/elecmla.html

Author or Editor of site (last name, first name)  
Title of Web Page or site.  
Date of publication or last revision (usually at bottom of page)  
Name of institution or organization that sponsors the site.  
Date that you visited this site  
Web address (URL)  

Put the above information into the following format:

Author(s) or Editor(s) of site. Title of Web page or site. Date of
 
publication or last revision. Name of institution or organization sponsoring the site. Date you accessed online. <URL of Web site>.

EXAMPLE:

Smith, Tom.  Emily Dickinson; High Drama.  12 Sept. 2002.  Madison College
 
Poetry Department.    16 Dec. 2002.   <http://www.madcoll.edu>.
