About my classes:
English 3 Honors is an acclerated option covering a chronological survey of British literature. In addition to using our comprehensive textbook to study Chaucer, Shakespeare, and several poetry movements, we read the novels A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens and The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Students also learn research skills in order to master MLA format and complete a 6-page literature-based research paper.
English 4 Humanities examines the elements of the arts that make us human: literature, visual art, architecture, music, and philosophy. We read a variety of works spanning the 10th to the 21st centuries. Students will write a 6-page research paper that examines the connection between different genres of the humanities.
About me:
This is my tenth year of teaching at RBR. I graduated from Duke University in 1990 with a B.A. in English and earned my Master's in Teaching at Rutgers in 2005. I am also currently pursuing a Master's of Letters degree at Drew University.
I love literature and I love my job. If English is not your or your student’s favorite subject, I hope to make it more interesting and fun. I hope to push those who like English to dig deeper into the literature and challenge themselves and their thinking. I love introducing my students to great literature and art and encouraging them to share my passion for learning. As an RBR alumna (Class of 1986), I believe in this school and the excellent education it delivers.
