Rules:
Respect yourself and everyone in the classroom. Please apply this rule to:
·        treatment of others – be courteous
·        vocabulary – choose language that is not offensive
·        mode of dress – follow school guidelines for appropriate clothing
·        handling property – use class equipment gently
·        safety – use proper care in using tools and machinery

Procedures:

  1. Homework:  due at beginning of class period, placed in Class Folder on instructor desk – no printing of assignments in room, no fetching from locker, etc.

  2. Student File: Each student has a file in the Course box in the back of the room.  Use it to store your handouts and corrected worksheets, homework, tests. When you are absent, I will put your missed work in that file.

  3. Standard for Work: all assignments must have your full name and be written legibly, no red ink. Points will be subtracted when standard is not met.

  4. Grade Review: a summary of your grade to date will be provided twice each marking period – at progress report time and right before end of marking period. Please make an appointment to discuss your grade at any other time.

  5. Supplies: pen/pencil and Course notebook to every class.

  6. Restroom: pass given ONLY at first 5 and last 5 minutes of class.

Grading:
Evaluation is based on points assigned to the following areas:

·        Homework

·        Quizzes / Tests

·        Labs

·        Projects

·        Participation (preparation, behavior, discussion).

Grades are calculated according to a point system. Each area/activity is assigned a point value. The marking period grade is determined by dividing the points earned by the total possible points. For example, if a student earned 150 points out of a total of 200 points, he or she would divide 150 by 200 which equals .75. This number is then converted to a percent—75%.

Making up work after absence:

It is your responsibility to obtain all notes, work and test/quiz material. A copy of all materials handed out in class will be placed in your student folder or you may print a copy from the website. You must make up tests and quizzes within the week; homework is due the next day.
