WELCOME!

*** Please note that due to recent computer virus outbreaks and errors in receiving students' e-mails, as of 12/1/08, I will no longer accept assignments via e-mail. Students should come to class with their work in hand and will not be permitted to use the classroom printer. The writing center and media center both have printers available for use before class.

MS. KRUG'S NO EXCUSE POLICY FOR 2009

GENERAL CLASSROOM POLICIES

Welcome to English class! In order to make this class as productive, challenging, rewarding, and enjoyable as possible, the following procedures and expectations are essential. In addition, please refer to your student handbook for school-wide rules that also apply in my class. I look forward to getting to know all of you and anticipate a great year!

  1. Arrive on time to class.
  2. Hall passes are issued only when absolutely necessary and not at the start or end of class. Abuse of the pass will revoke the privilege.
  3. Appropriate, mature behavior and language is expected at all times. Treat others as you would like to be treated and be honest. Ridiculing, harassing, or teasing others will not be tolerated.
  4. Become an active participant in class.
  5. Cell phones and music players must be turned off and out of sight.
  6. You will need a notebook or binder divided into sections for class notes, homework, and journals.  Always come prepared – notebook, textbook, pen, and brain.
  7. If unsure of anything, ASK, ASK, ASK!

Homework Policy

Complete and hand work in on time. Homework is not accepted late because we will go over it in class. Major assignments are accepted late up to four school days with a ten point reduction per day.

If you miss class (excused), it is your responsibility to make up the work.  You may not make up work for unexcused absences or cuts.

  • You will have one “make-up” day for each day you are absent from school (i.e. if you are absent for two days, you will have two days to make up the work that was assigned in your absence).
  • Work that is assigned before you are absent is due the day you return to school.
  • It is your responsibility to check with a classmate for any missed notes. I will save copies of handouts, class work, etc. but it is your responsibility to see me to obtain any paperwork you may have missed.
