1Promote excellence and equity for all students by expanding opportunities, boosting achievement, and fostering a school culture that values inclusion and recognizes the value of diversity.
Implement Policy 1560, Excellence and Equity
  • Establish a district equity team to monitor policy implementation and provide updates.
  • Establish district norms for students to share their experiences and perspectives on equity and excellence.
  • Increase accountability of BOE, Superintendent, and school administration in advancing equity goals.
  • Annually set and periodically review targets in such areas as personnel; curriculum, instruction, and assessment; counseling and other services; professional development; and student life and programs that support equity and excellence.
Utilize data from universal screening tools to increase enrollment and interest in advanced coursework.
Implement school-wide PDP and other actions that strengthen student voices both within and outside classrooms.

2Utilize resources and form partnerships that support programs that prepare all students for success in a range of postsecondary pursuits including college, pathways toward earning industry-valued credentials/certifications and apprenticeships, as well as engagement in national and community service.
Implement Option 2 procedures and recommend additions to the program, i.e. credit for career exploration, college coursework, and internships.
Continue to implement, expand, and refine the Brookdale Early Start, the Alliance for Success, and other partnerships that connect students with compelling and viable post-secondary options
Continue to implement the “all in” strategy in which all students, beginning with the Class of 2025, enroll in at least one advanced English Language Arts course in grades 11 or 12 (IB English, AP Comp, AP Lit, or Rutgers Expository, Brookdale ELA 121).
Expand efforts to ensure families are aware of educational and personal growth opportunities in high school and after graduation.

3Promote Student Achievement and Success by Prioritizing Efforts to Strengthen the Instructional Program and Tier 1 Supports
Utilize the instructional rounds model to promote collaboration and sharing of best instructional practices.
  • All staff will engage in using walk-throughs to provide actionable feedback
  • Utilize the expertise of our exceptional staff to share ideas and scale up best practices
  • Utlize ScIP and other school committees to analyze data, identify needs and refine professional learning during the school year
Refine the use of assessments including MAPS, Pre-AP benchmarks, and IXL to monitor student progress and provide parents, teachers, and students with the information they need to monitor progress and intervene when needed.
Implement new master schedule for SY 2024-25 based on the rotating/drop model.
Continue ongoing efforts to integrate S-E-L practices both in the instructional and extra-curricular program
Strengthen use of MTSS tools to ensure all students receive supports needed to maximize academic success

Continue CAB to support open communication within RBR community
Develop a new strategic plan for the district for 2025-2030.
Build community engagement and awareness by regularly sharing student and school successes such as awards, dual enrollment options, and alumni achievements. Review current strategies and look for new ways to improve communication and outreach, highlighting the unique value and benefits of the RBR experience.
