Principal

Dear Families and Students,

I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new Principal of Red Bank Regional High School, beginning this January. Having had the privilege of serving as the STEM Supervisor and, most recently, as Assistant Principal, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working alongside such a dedicated staff and an outstanding community in this new role.

Red Bank Regional has a strong tradition of academic excellence, student growth, and community pride. As principal, my commitment is to build upon that foundation by fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that celebrates our diversity and ensures every student, staff member, and family feels valued, heard, and connected to our shared mission. Through strong partnerships among students, families, staff, and the wider community, we will continue to promote high expectations, personal responsibility, and opportunities that prepare our students for college, careers, and life beyond high school.

As we return from winter break and begin the second half of the school year, it is especially important that students start strong and remain focused on building positive academic and personal habits. The months ahead are a critical time for growth, reflection, and preparation as students continue to strengthen the foundation for their success.
I encourage students to prioritize the following habits, which will set them up for long-term academic and personal success.

  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality to stay engaged in learning and build strong relationships with peers and teachers.
  • Complete assignments on time to develop effective time-management skills and consistent academic habits.
  • Seek help when challenges arise by asking questions and taking advantage of available resources such as tutoring and peer support.
  • Engage positively with classmates and staff to strengthen the learning environment and foster a supportive school community.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as principal and look forward to a year of growth, collaboration, and achievements, big and small, at Red Bank Regional High School.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Timpone

Principal

The portal allows you to access important information, including grades, attendance, and student schedules.  If you cannot access your portal or need the password reset, please complete the Parent Portal Access Information Form. Your account will be active throughout your child’s enrollment at RBRHS.

Freshmen will receive a copy of their schedule at Freshman Orientation on August 27.   Information on the student and parent portals was mailed home in July; guidance representatives will be available for additional assistance at orientation.

Located on our website, you will find our revised school calendar.  The faculty and administration of Red Bank Regional High School place a high priority on student attendance. We appreciate your cooperation in scheduling family vacations and personal commitments during school holidays and after-school hours. Family vacations during school days will be recorded as “unexcused” absences. Please see below for the website school calendar:

Breakfast and Lunch Program

Parents can add funds online to their child’s lunch account through My School Bucks.  Cashless payment is preferred.

The State of NJ  requires all parents/guardians either complete an application or waive out of the application process.  Notification will be sent when the application is available in Genesis to do so.  Additionally paper applications will be available in the Principal’s office and will be accepted.

Families meeting the income guidelines for free or reduced meals must complete an application as soon as possible if you are seeking free or reduced priced meals for your child.

Note, if you have applied at another district for a student in your household not attending RBR, you still need to complete an application at RBR.  Additionally if  you had free or reduced benefits last school year, you will need to re-apply as eligibility is determined annually.    Students who qualify for this program may also be eligible for other benefits, including SAT/PSAT fee waivers, college application fee waivers, AP/IB fee discounts and Summer EBT benefits.

For additional information and/or assistance completing this application, please call 732-842-8000, press 1, then 437.

Student Insurance

Red Bank Regional maintains a Student Accident Insurance Policy.  If your child is injured or hurt on campus the incident must be reported to the Nurse’s office or for Athletic Injuries, the Athletic Trainer.  This coverage holds up to a $3,000 deductible depending on your personal health insurance coverage.

The District is also passing along the opportunity for parents to directly purchase Voluntary Accident Insurance through Bob McCloskey Insurance.  Flyers will be posted on the website under “Families and Students”. This insurance plan does not cover interscholastic sports.   Please read the flyer as to what is and is not covered or contact Bob McCloskey Insurance directly.

Student Handbook

Our Assistant Principal will give all students an overview of the student handbook and school policies during the first week of school. Our digital handbook will be posted on our website.  Please take the time to review the policies outlined in the handbook with your child.  You and your child(ren) must sign an acknowledgment form via Genesis Parent and Student Portal stating that you have reviewed the school policies outlined in the handbook.

You can sign off on the handbook in Genesis on September 9.   We ask that all parents and students sign off on the handbook by Thursday, September 18, 2025.

Student Attendance and Absences

Parents and students are reminded that attendance will be taken in all blocks.  Parents are also reminded to always: (1) contact the Attendance Office at 732-842-8000, press one then 270 on the first day of an absence or email the attendance office at mlemus@rbrhs.org with the reasons for the absence; (2) to submit a note for their absence upon the return stating the reason.  Parent notes for illnesses fewer than three days must state the “nature of illness” (symptoms).  Absences for illnesses lasting more than three days require a doctor’s note.  Absences for court, motor vehicle appointments, and college visits require documentation from those offices.  Please consult the student handbook for details on the attendance policy, as students could lose credit for a class if they surpass a certain number of absences within the class.

Students Excused Early for Appointments

Parents are reminded that if their child is being picked up early from school, the student must submit a note from the parent in writing before 7:30 am stating the time of pick up. The student will be issued an “Excused Early” pass from the Attendance Office to leave class at the specified pickup time and report back to the Attendance Office for the parent to sign them out.  Students may be signed out ONLY by a parent or guardian listed on either the note given or by an individual on the Emergency Contact list.  Under no circumstances may an 18-year-old student sign out a sibling.
