Superintendent
Dear RBR Families and Students,
I am writing to share revisions to the 2025–26 district calendar to make up for the instructional days lost during the emergency closures in February. The Board of Education voted to approve these changes at its meeting last night.
As a public school district, we are required to provide 180 days of student instruction. While two emergency days were built into the calendar, we were closed for a total of six days due to the burst water pipe and two significant snowstorms. As a result, we need to restore four instructional days in the remaining school calendar to comply with New Jersey Department of Education requirements.
Consistent with our existing contingency plan, which was approved by the Board of Education in February 2025, the calendar will be adjusted as follows:
- April 3, 2026 – 11:35 a.m. dismissal for students
- April 10, 2026 – 11:35 a.m. dismissal for students
- Final Exams – June 11–17, 2026 (includes an exam review day on Monday, June 15)
- Make-up Exams – June 18–19, 2026; students in session; 11:35 dismissal
- Graduation (Rain or Shine) – June 18, 2026 (previously scheduled as the rain date) Note: In the event of inclement weather on June 18th, each graduate will receive four tickets for the indoor program held in the fieldhouse.
- Last Day of School – June 19, 2026, with an 11:35 a.m. dismissal for staff and students
The revised calendar for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year is available at the link below.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support throughout the last few weeks.
Sincerely,
Louis B. Moore

Dear Families and Students,
I am writing to update the RBR community on our progress toward restoring normal building operations and to outline plans for next week.
Although significant progress has been made in repairing the damage caused by the burst pipe in our main building, more remediation work is required to safely welcome staff and students back for regular instruction. Repairs require sections of drywall, insulation, and related materials to be opened, removed, and thoroughly dried to prevent further structural damage and potential environmental health risks. Red Bank Regional administrators and maintenance staff, along with qualified mitigation experts, are working diligently to reopen the building as quickly and safely as possible.
Red Bank Regional will continue using remote instruction on Tuesday, February 17th, and Wednesday, February 18th. While we are hopeful that a resumption of normal operations is possible for the second half of next week, families and students should be prepared for the possibility that remote instruction may continue through Friday, February 20. We will continue to provide updates as remediation work progresses and more definitive information becomes available.
Please refer to the updated remote instruction plan for details regarding class schedules, technology assistance, and student support services. Athletics will continue with minor schedule adjustments, and coaches will communicate any changes through their usual channels. Please continue to use the regular communication process to address any concerns or questions. Adjustments have also been made to some events scheduled for next week; additional details will be shared separately.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our students, families, and staff for their continued support and cooperation. We are especially grateful to our staff for their professionalism and flexibility in making the rapid adjustments necessary to implement remote instruction. We are also proud of our students for the maturity and dedication they have shown in staying engaged with their schoolwork during this time.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Sincerely,
Louis B. Moore
Estimadas Familias y Estudiantes:
Atentamente,
Louis B. Moore
Dear Families and Students,
On Sunday, a burst pipe caused damage to a significant number of classrooms and other spaces in our main building that require immediate remediation and repair. The scope of work mandates the use of industrial drying equipment, air movers, and dehumidifiers that generate elevated noise levels and limit access to the impacted areas. The presence of students and staff would pose safety concerns and also limit the effectiveness of the remediation efforts.
Red Bank Regional administrators and maintenance staff, alongside qualified mitigation experts, continue to work diligently to resume normal school operations as soon as possible. In compliance with Department of Education guidelines, Red Bank Regional will remain closed on Wednesday, February 11.
For February 12th and 13th, we will shift to remote instruction, with the early dismissal schedule for Friday continuing as planned. We will update the community further on Friday afternoon on whether further remote instruction will be needed for the week of February 17th when school resumes after the President's Day holiday. At present, we anticipate that the current district calendar will remain unchanged.
Please see the updated remote instruction plan for information on class schedules, technology assistance, and student support services. Athletics will continue with minor schedule changes and coaches will communicate any changes through their usual channels. Please continue to use the regular communication process to address concerns and ask questions.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work to resume normal building operations as quickly as possible.
Sincerely,
Louis B. Moore
Estimadas familias y estudiantes:
Atentamente,
Louis B. Moore
Dear Red Bank Regional Families and Students,
Legally and morally, Red Bank Regional High School is obligated to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all students, regardless of immigration status. New Jersey law provides strong protections for immigrant students, and we are fully committed to upholding them. This includes strict limits on any interaction between federal immigration agencies and students while they are on school grounds, in transit to and from school, or participating in any school-sponsored activities.
Last year, the New Jersey Department of Education released updated guidance outlining the rights of immigrant students and their families. We will continue to work with community leaders and organizations to do all we can to assist families. As always, RBR teachers, counselors, and administrators are available to assist any student who may be dealing with hardship and distress. If you have any questions or concerns about these issues or how we are handling them at school, please reach out to us at at lmoore@rbrhs.org or ntimpone@rbrhs.org. Dr. Moore’s desk phone is 732-842-8000, ext. 247.
Below are links to organizations and resources that may be helpful for RBR families. We will continue to update this list on our website.
Sincerely,
Louis B. Moore

Dear Families and Students,
I am writing to let you know that Dr. Peter Righi will be serving as interim Principal of Red Bank Regional following Mr. Clark’s departure on August 31.
Dr. Righi brings a wealth of experience as both a teacher and administrator. Before retiring in 2019, he served as Superintendent of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School. More recently stepped in as interim principal in both Wall and Edison.
His background, educational philosophy, and deep knowledge of New Jersey public schools make him a great fit for RBR at this time.
The length of Dr. Righi’s service will depend on the outcome of our search for a new permanent principal. I will share more details about that process soon. See you soon.
Sincerely,
Louis B. Moore
