Red Bank Regional (RBR) students participated in the Model UN Conference in early 2015 in Hershey PA. Several students held leadership positions while others were recognized with several awards. Victoria Ovanesian, Little Silver, held the esteemed position as chair of the Arab League while Jack Anderson, Little Silver, was invited as an alternate to the highly selective Conference of National Affairs. Kristen Wimmer, Little Silver, was recognized as the Outstanding First Year Delegate for the Social & Humanitarian Committee. Lauren O’Brien, Red Bank, was honored as the Premier Diplomat for the European Union, and Brianna Napoli, Interlaken, received the Outstanding Country Award for her representation of Egypt.

According to Jackie Normyle, the Teen Development Specialist at the Community YMCA, which operates the program with area high schools, “(All the students) enjoyed an educational opportunity to learn and grow while debating international issues, putting war criminals on trial, building new nations, and more. Many advisors came to tell me how impressed they were with all of our Community Y delegates.”
