RBR to Host Panel Discussion on Immigration on January 17

Jeremy Robbins, Executive Director of the New American Economy   On Thursday, January 17, Red Bank Regional High School (RBR) cordially invites our greater community to have a frank, open and productive discussion on one of the most controversial subjects of our time--- Immigration.  The event will start at 7 pm in the RBR auditorium. The keynote speaker Jeremy Robbin, Executive Director of the New American Economy, is one of the most knowledgeable and dispassionate experts on the subject.  The New American Economy is a bipartisan coalition of more than 500 CEOs and mayors making a case for immigration reform.  Following Mr. Robbins presentation, a panel of lawmakers, educators and RBR graduates who are leaders in the Dreamer community will entertain questions from the audience. Residents are invited to come participate with questions, suggestions, but most importantly, open minds so we can have a civil discussion on one of the most important issues of our time.

Mr. Robbins is a Yale Law School graduate who advised New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg on immigration issues.  He states about his upcoming presentation to the RBR greater community, “I plan to discuss the economic impact of immigration locally and nationally, what the state of play is for the reform in Congress and what people in the community can do to fight for reform.”

The event is sponsored by several RBR groups including The SOURCE, RBR’s School Based Youth Services Program, the RBR BUC Backer Foundation, and the Student Advisory Board.
