    Dear RBR Family and Staff,

Red Bank Regional High School proudly embraces one of the most diverse student populations in New Jersey. This diversity includes our LGBTQ+ community, whose perspectives and experiences enrich our school culture.

On June 2, we hosted our first-ever Pride Assembly, organized by the RBR Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA). The GSA has been a vital part of the RBR community for over a decade. In preparing the event, students, advisors, and administration collaborated closely with respected organizations and individuals, including Garden State Equality, the largest LGBTQ+ advocacy group in New Jersey.

The assembly featured respectful and thoughtful speeches from RBR students and advisors that addressed important and complex topics with compassion, empathy, and mutual respect. The RBR band’s performance added to the program, and throughout the assembly, our student community demonstrated maturity and a spirit of good citizenship.

As this was the first event of its kind, we acknowledge that certain parts of the Garden State Equality presentation may have shifted focus from the assembly’s central purpose. Moving forward, we remain committed to learning from this experience and continuing efforts to promote an inclusive school community that celebrates the dignity of everyone.

On behalf of the entire school community, I extend sincere gratitude to the GSA students and advisors for their courage and leadership in making this assembly possible. Their efforts have helped advance our mission to foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive school community.

Happy Pride and thank you for your continued support!

    Sincerely,

    Louis B. Moore
