Learning Options for Third Marking Period

Posted by Dr. Louis Moore on 1/14/2021

Dear Students and Families:

Next week we will be sharing our revised restart and recovery plan to increase in-person learning for all students.  To assist the district in planning for the second half of the academic year, we are asking that all families update us on their status for the third marking period

At present, two options remain available: 1) The hybrid program that combines in-person and remote learning or 2) full remote program.  Regardless of which is selected, students will have access to all coursework, counseling, and other support services and they will be permitted to participate in extracurricular activities and athletic activities.

In selecting your option, please be advised of the following:

  • All parents and guardians must complete the form - Remote Learning Google Form/ SPAN Form  (Please submit a form for each child enrolled.)  The deadline for submitting the form for the third marking period is Monday, January 25.

  • IMPORTANT: If the full remote option is selected, students must follow that model for the full third marking period (January 20-March 26.)

The timeline below outlines target dates for critical decisions and implementation for the third marking period in regard to expanding in-person programs.  We are sharing it because it might impact your decision regarding your selection of the hybrid or the full-remote learning option.

Note: This timeline supports our goal of increasing in-person programs but will be dependent on NJ DOE, DOH, and public health guidelines.
